Hajj and Umrah Footnotes

1. Reported by Bukharee, AHmad, An-nasaaiee & Ibn Maajah from Abu Hurairah - may Allah be pleased with him. See 'Silsilat-ul-Ahadeeth-us-Saheehah' (no. 1200) and 'Al-Irwaa' (no. 769).

2. As is the case with most pilgrims these days - and it is very rare for one of them to bring the sacrificial animal along with him as the Prophet did. So he who does so, then there is no blame upon him - however one who does not bring it with him and still does Hajj Qaarin or Faarid - then he has gone against the Prophet's action and his command - even though the people may be averse to this point. As Ibn Abbas said- reported by Muslim(4/58) and AHmad(1/278,342).

Disobeying The Parents Is a Grave Matter

by Sumayyah bint Joan

After polytheism, the gravest sin is disobedience to parents. This is an evil that a true Muslim cannot even imagine without even imagine without repulsion. Thankfulness, gentleness and gratitude are the three basic qualities that made one be a good person. One who does not cultivate these basic attitudes within him can neither fulfill his duties towards Allah nor the people: Hence Muslims who are obedient to Almighty Allah can never be disobedient or even careless to their parents.

What Does Obeying The Parents Mean?

by Sumayyah bint Joan

Abdullah ibn Umar narrated that the Prophet (PBUH) told a person that one who awoke in the morning as obedient to his parents, according to the commandments of Almighty Allah, was like one who found two doors opened for him in Heaven. And he will find one door opened if ant one of his parents was alive. But one who broke the day as disobedient to his parents defying the orders of Allah the Almighty, was like one who found the two doors opened for him in Hell. And he will find one door opened if any one of his parents was alive. The man asked the Prophet (PBUH), if one should be obedient to his parents even if they were insensible to him? The Prophet (PBUH), replied, "Yes , even if they are insensible ; yes, even if they are insensible; yes, even if they are insensible."

Love Your Parents

By: Mohammad Amin C. Cave

A MOTHER'S LABOUR OF LOVE

No one can deny the supreme sacrifice and care that a mother renders to her child. The mother carries him (in her womb) by enduring strain after strain. And subsequently, at the time of birth, she is suspended between life and death. All this she faces with determination as much as patience barring any regret or anger.

The family is that brick which forms the foundation of a society. It is composed of individuals that have permanent relations established between them.
